SUBJECT: New Campus Emergency Status Information Number
A new toll-free telephone number (888-308-UCSD) has recently
been established, which will provide information on the status of UCSD
following a major emergency or campus closure. The number is maintained
through a telecommunication service located out of state to ensure its
availability following an areawide earthquake or other major disaster.
During an emergency, the caller will hear recorded information regarding
closure status, as well as any special instructions to faculty, staff and
students which might be appropriate.
Please record this new number in several personal locations so as to
be easily retrievable in time of need. If you have any questions, please
