OFFICE OF THE CHANCELLOR May 22, 1998 ALL AT UCSD ALL STUDENTS AT UCSD SUBJECT: Appointment of Lori Chamberlain Title IX/Sexual Harassment Officer I am pleased to announce the appointment of Lori Chamberlain as the Title IX/Sexual Harassment Officer for UCSD. Ms. Chamberlain will assume her position on July 1, 1998. Ms. Chamberlain is an acknowledged expert in the field of sexual harassment and gender discrimination. A graduate of the Ph.D. program at the University of California, Irvine, Ms. Chamberlain comes with extensive familiarity of the University of California. She served as the Assistant Director of the UCSD Muir College Writing Program some years ago, and obtained her law degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1990. Ms. Chamberlain currently practices with the law firm of Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps, LLP, specializing in labor and employment law. In her practice, Ms. Chamberlain has gained extensive experience in representing and counseling private colleges and universities. In addition, Ms. Chamberlain has excellent experience in designing and conducting training programs in the areas of sexual harassment and gender discrimination. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Nancy Wahlig for the serving as Interim Director of the Office of Sexual Harassment Prevention & Policy during our extensive management review and search process.
