SUBJECT: Correction New General Campus Department Chairs
I want to advise you of an oversight in the July 8, 1998 Notice re: New
General Campus Department Chairs. Inadvertently, the Chair of the
Department of Sociology was omitted. I am pleased to announce the
appointment of Carlos H. Waisman (cwaisman@ucsd.edu, 45639)as Department Chair beginning January 1, 1999. Andrew Scull will remain as Acting Chair through September 30, 1998, Gershon Shafir will be the Acting Chair from October 1 through December 31, 1998. In addition, Tom O'Neil, Department Chair of Physics, can be reached at a new email address (chair@physics.ucsd.edu).
