SUBJECT: Disbursements and Payroll Checking Account Bank Conversion
All campuses of the University of California will be undergoing a
conversion of their disbursement checking accounts, which includes both
vendor and payroll checks. Wells Fargo Bank will continue to be our service
bank and whose name will continue to appear on UCSD checks as the issuing
bank but our processing bank will change.
Effective September 1, 1998, the Disbursements and Payroll Divisions will
begin issuing checks against the new processing bank, Wachovia Bank, N.A.
The new checks will almost appear identical to the old ones, with the
exception of a few minor format changes.
While this conversion will be transparent to the recipients of our checks
and will not affect the process and procedure for handling either vendor or
payroll checks, all payee's and employee's who have received checks dated
prior to September 1, are being advised to cash them immediately.
There are no changes to Disbursements Direct Deposit and Payroll Surepay
accounts.
