SUBJECT: University Librarian & Associate Vice Chancellor Jerry Lowell
I regret to announce that Jerry Lowell, University Librarian and
Associate Vice Chancellor Academic Information Technology, will
be leaving UCSD on November 6, 1998 to assume the position of
University Librarian at UC Berkeley. Jerry has made significant
contributions to the management of UCSD’s libraries and has provided
strong leadership in the area of academic information technology
during his tenure here. He will be greatly missed. Please join me
in expressing our gratitude to Jerry for his many accomplishments
and extending best wishes for continued success in his new
position at UCB.
Phyllis Mirsky, currently Deputy University Librarian, has graciously
agreed to serve as Interim University Librarian until a replacement for
