ALL AT UCSD

SUBJECT:    Chancellor's Associates Faculty Grants

Colleagues:

From time to time discretionary funds contributed by the Chancellor's
Associates become available to fund faculty projects that would enrich
the intellectual environment of our campus and community. In order to
insure that these funds are distributed fairly and appropriately, I am
initiating an application process that will provide for a selection
committee to review requests for Chancellor's Associates funds and
forward their recommendations to me.

The Chancellor's Associates' Faculty Grants selection committee will
include representatives from the Academic Senate, Academic Affairs, the
Chancellor's Associates, and Development and University Relations.

There are some funds available now, and I have set a deadline of March 31
for applications. A copy of the application form and guidelines is
attached.
