Office of Campus Veterinary Services and Office Animal Resources

In March, 1998, an external review was conducted of the Office
of Campus Veterinary Services (OCVS) and Office of Animal
Resources (OAR). One of the recommendations that resulted from
this review was that planning and administration of animal care
and use be coordinated across the major campus units. Based
on this recommendation, effective May 1, 1998, the Office of
Campus Veterinary Services, the Office of Animal Resources
and the office of the Animal Subjects Committee will report to
the Vice Chancellor for Research. Vice Chancellor Attiyeh will
serve as the campus Institutional Official responsible for the
oversight of campus-wide animal husbandry and research.
This revised reporting structure will provide for an enhanced
animal care and use program to meet the needs of our faculty
and campus.
