SUBJECT:    Review of UCSD Procedures and Practices pertaining to the University of California Electronic Mail Policy

The University of California Electronic Mail Policy was reissued on March 23,
1998. The original Policy was developed by the UC Electronic Mail Policy Task
Force, with representation from every campus, and adopted following review by
campuses and by the Academic Council. The UC Electronic Mail Policy is posted
at:

http://www.ucop.edu/ucophome/policies/email/

The UC Email Policy required each campus to develop local "Procedures and
Practices" to implement the systemwide policy. The UCSD Electronic
Information Task Force, composed of faculty, staff, and student
representatives nominated by the Academic Senate and campus
administrators, has been charged to develop UCSD's "Procedures and
Practices" document.

A draft of this UCSD Procedures and Practices document is now complete and is
posted at:

The UCSD Electronic Information Task Force welcomes your comments on this
draft "Procedures and Practices" document. Please send your comments to:
emailcom@ucsd.edu no later than July 1, 1998. Please note that this
request for comments applies only to the UCSD Procedures and Practices
document. The University of California Electronic Mail Policy has already
undergone substantial review and has been formally issued. Thank you.
