SUBJECT:    New Version of InfoPath

The Web Technology Office is pleased to announce the new version of
InfoPath, UCSD's official World Wide Web site. InfoPath has been
redesigned to take advantage of advances in web technology and to
better present UCSD's unique resources and services to UCSD and the
community. The new version will be implemented on September 16, 1998.

The new design is centered on two new organizational structures. The
new Index of UCSD Web Sites and the Departments page are databases of
all official and affiliated UCSD web sites. Users can search the
database for campus sites alphabetically, by title, by keyword, or by
category. We have also added special "intranets" for our main groups
of users. These are special pages designed especially for current
students, faculty, staff, prospective students, and visitors, alumni,
and the community. These "intranet" pages allow us to customize
InfoPath for our main categories of users, allowing us to serve them
better.

InfoPath is available over the World Wide Web at http://www.ucsd.edu.
While Infopath is compatible with older browsers, we recommend using
Netscape 4.0 or Internet Explorer 4.0 or above in order to
experience all the enhancements of the redesign. You are invited to
browse the new version and contact us with your comments via email at
webmaster@ucsd.edu.
