ACADEMIC SENATE: SAN DIEGO DIVISION April 13, 1999 ACADEMIC SENATE MEMBERS SUBJECT: 1998-99 Academic Senate Election Results The results of the April 9, 1999 Academic Senate election are as follows: Vice Chair (Chair Designate) for a two-year term, effective September 1, 1999, through August 31, 2001 [the first year will be served as Vice Chair (Chair Designate) and the second year as Chair of the San Diego Division]: Douglas Magde (Chemistry and Biochemistry) Divisional Representatives to the Assembly of the Academic Senate (systemwide) for two-year terms, effective September 1, 1999 through August 31, 2001: Gary C. Jacobson (Political Science) Jane Stevens (Music) Alternates: Carl H. Gibson (AMES/SIO) Terry L. Jernigan (Psychiatry/Radiology) Committee on Committees member from a School of Medicine Department for a three-year term effective September 1, 1999 through August 31, 2002: Doris A. Trauner (Neurosciences/Pediatrics) Committee on Committees member from Scripps Institution of Oceanography for a three-year term effective September 1, 1999 through August 31, 2002: D. John Faulkner (SIO/MRD) Committee on Committees member from a Social Sciences Department for a three-year term effective September 1, 1999 through August 31, 2002: Laura E. Schreibman (Psychology) The number of valid ballots cast in this election was 489, which represents a 35% turnout of the current Senate membership.
