SUBJECT:	New Staff Reception
I am pleased to announce that the Second Annual New Staff Reception will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 1999. The Reception provides an excellent opportunity to welcome new staff to the UCSD community. More than 1300 employees hired between December 1, 1997, through April 30, 1999, have been invited to this year's event.
The Reception will be held in the Price Center Ballroom from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Activities will include comments from UCSD Administrators, and light refreshments will be served. The Reception is sponsored by the Chancellor's Office, Chancellor's Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (CSW) in coordination with the Policy Development and Quality of Work/Life (PDQWL), and Equal Opportunity and Staff Affirmative Action (EO/SAA) Divisions of the Human Resources Department.
All supervisors should encourage their new employees who have been formally invited to attend the reception. If possible, supervisors are encouraged to attend the event with their employees.
