INNOVATIVE TEACHING METHODS SUBGROUP

ALL FACULTY AT UCSD
SUBJECT: | Request from the Innovative Teaching Methods Subgroup of the Undergraduate Education Advisory Committee |
Most undergraduate courses at UCSD are taught using the traditional
lecture format. Yet, this may not be the best or most effective teaching
method for many courses. The Senior Vice Chancellor-Academic Affairs has
convened a working group to explore alternative approaches to undergraduate
teaching. We know that a number of faculty have developed new and
innovative approaches to teaching undergraduates. We would like you to
share your most successful techniques with us. If you have found something
that works, please provide us with a brief description of the method and the
kind of class(es) with which it is most effective. Please direct
responses to any of the subgroup members listed below.
Thank you for your help.
