SUBJECT:    UC Education Abroad Program Announces Recruitment of Study Center Directors for 2001-2003

UC faculty are invited to apply for Study Center directorship positions in the University's Education Abroad Program. At each site, the Study Center Director is the administrator of the center, assures harmonious relations with UC's partner universities, facilitates exchange provisions of agreements, provides academic and general counseling for enrolled UC students, implements UC academic policy, and serves as Instructor of Record for all academic work undertaken by EAP students. In Meiji Gakuin, the visiting UC Professor is required to teach one course. Fluency in the language of the host country and a broad knowledge of the host country are major qualifications. Tenured faculty members of the Academic Senate, including Lecturers with security of employment and emeriti faculty, may apply.

*JAPAN (MEIJI-GAKUIN)

Two-year appointments will be for the term January 2001 through June 30, 2003. *In Japan, a one-semester nomination will be made to Meiji Gakuin University for a visiting UC Professor who will also oversee students in the Spring Semester Global Security and Development Program from April 2001 through July, 2001.
