SUBJECT:  Appointment of Education Specialist-Kirsten Quanbeck
                     Office of Sexual Harassment Prevention and Policy

We are happy to announce that Kirsten Quanbeck has joined the Office of Sexual Harassment Prevention and Policy (OSHPP) as an education specialist. She is working to develop programs regarding sexual harassment issues for students at UCSD and to coordinate OSHPP's educational outreach with other appropriate UCSD offices. She has already participated in a number of education programs at UCSD since her arrival on September 16, 1999.

Ms. Quanbeck brings a wealth of experience to her new position. She has a Master's degree in Education from Saint Louis University and a J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Prior to joining UCSD, she served as a staff attorney at Michigan State University, where her duties included reviewing policy, providing education, and conducting investigations regarding sexual harassment issues. She also has substantial experience with residential life.
