SUBJECT:    1998-99 Academic Senate Election Results

The results of the April 9, 1999 Academic Senate election are
as follows:

Vice Chair (Chair Designate) for a two-year term, effective
September 1, 1999, through August 31, 2001 [the first year
will be served as Vice Chair (Chair Designate) and the second
year as Chair of the San Diego Division]:

  Douglas Magde (Chemistry and Biochemistry)

Divisional Representatives to the Assembly of the Academic
Senate (systemwide) for two-year terms, effective September 1, 1999
through August 31, 2001:

  Gary C. Jacobson (Political Science)
  Jane Stevens (Music)

The number of valid ballots cast in this election was 489, which
represents a 35% turnout of the current Senate membership. I wish
to thank everyone who participated in this year's election.
