ALL ACADEMICS AT UCSD

SUBJECT:    UC San Diego Biosciences Website

Dear Colleagues: As many of you are aware, UCSD has a centralized Biosciences Website
for the General Campus, School of Medicine, Scripps Institution of
Oceanography, and the San Diego Supercomputer Center, with links to
the surrounding research institutes. The site is designed primarily
as a recruitment tool for graduate students but should also prove to
be helpful in recruiting new faculty, and in helping new and current
faculty become aware of the resources and potential collaborations
offered by UCSD.

Since the site was first established, new faculty have arrived who may
not know of the Website and who should be included. In addition, faculty
already listed may now want to be included in other areas of research, or
their Web addresses may have changed in the past year. I would like to
ask each of you to take a few minutes to review the Website and then let
Jane Weber (jweber@ucsd.edu) know under which Areas of Research you would
like to be included. Also, please give her your personal URL (Web address)
or your email address whichever you prefer to be used. The public will be
able to access this information directly from the Biosciences Website.
Many of you will of course go into several areas. The address for the
site is:

http://biosciences.sdsc.edu/

Since this is the time of year when many prospective graduate students are
deciding on universities, we need to update the site as soon as possible.
Please send your information to Jane Weber at jweber@ucsd.edu or you may
call her at 44786. Please do not send the information to my office. Any
comments or suggestions you may have to improve the site will be most
welcome.

Thank you.
