SUBJECT:    Nomination Period for the UCSD 1999-2000 Exemplary Staff Employee of the Year Award Program

The Exemplary Staff Employee of the Year Award Program nomination period will end at 4:30 p.m. on March 3, 2000. The campus community is encouraged to use this program to acknowledge Professional or Support Staff employees who have made significant service contributions to the UCSD and San Diego communities.

Ten employees will be selected from the eligible nominations submitted. The individual selected as "Exemplary" Staff Employee will receive a cash award of $2,000. Nine individuals will be selected for "Commendable Service" recognition and each will receive a cash award of $1,000.

• A framed certificate signed by the Chancellor, presented at the May 2, 2000 ceremony.
  
• A UCSD Bookstore gift certificate.
  
• A complimentary Dining Services' Triton Plus Card with a $10 deposit.
  
• A complimentary "Lunch for Two" at the Faculty Club.
  
• A UCSD Recreation Department Fun Pack.
  
• Guest passes for the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
  
• A certificate for free admission to the Staff Association Holiday Pancake Breakfast in December.
  

Additionally, each award recipient will have their name inscribed on the perpetual plaque, which is displayed in the Human Resources Department at Torrey Pines Center-South, Suite 265A.

Full consideration will be given to all nominations received by 4:30 p.m. on March 3, 2000, in the campus Human Resources Department located at Torrey Pines Center-South, Suite 265A, mail code 0922. Electronic nominations will be considered, provided all nominating materials and personal electronic endorsements from the nominators and endorsers are received by the deadline.
