SUBJECT:  Construction Alert - Night Time Road Closure
                     Villa La Jolla Drive

Villa La Jolla Drive will be closed beginning Wednesday evening at 11:15 p.m, September 13, and reopened early Thursday morning at 5:30 a.m, September 14. This road closure is necessary to remove the large Torrey Pines from the median allowing the south end of Villa La Jolla Drive to be widened. With the Gilman Drive Parking Structure due to open on Monday, September 18, the widening of this road will improve traffic movement in both directions between La Jolla Village Drive and the entrance to the VA Hospital. These trees will then be replanted near the La Jolla Village Drive intersection.

Buses will not be effected. During the above hours, the detour will be from La Jolla Village Drive to Gilman Drive. The north end of Villa La Jolla Drive will be open to the VA Hospital entrance. All VA Hospital traffic will need to use Gilman Drive.
