SUBJECT:    Retirement of Howard Fisher as Bursar

After over seventeen years serving UCSD, Howard Fisher has announced his retirement as Campus Bursar. In his role as Bursar, Howard has been responsible for student billing and loan administration, disbursing student financial aid, general campus billing and collections, and the central cashiering office. We thank Howard for his many years of dedicated service and wish him all the best as he enters this new phase of his life.

We will begin a search for the new head of the Bursar's Office immediately. While this search is conducted, Yolanda Cesena has agreed to act as interim manager of the Bursar's Office. Yolanda (Yolie) has been the Supervisor of the Billing Services Division of the Bursar's Office for several years. Sally Brainerd, Associate Controller, will also be integrally involved in ensuring that the excellent service and coordination levels for which the Bursar's Office has been known are sustained during this transition.
