ALL STUDENTS AT UCSD SUBJECT: New Sexual Harassment Law Legislation will go into effect in California on January 1, 2001 that affects individual liability for sexual harassment. Under the new legislation, a co-worker may be held individually liable for sexually harassing a co-worker. Existing law already imposes individual liability on supervisors who sexually harass someone they supervise. The best way to prevent sexual harassment and avoid liability is to be well-informed about UCSD's Policy on Sexual Harassment. To learn more or to arrange for an educational program for your department, group, or organization, contact the Office of Sexual Harassment Prevention and Policy at (858) 534-8298 or oshpp@ucsd.edu.
