UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA EDUCATION ABROAD PROGRAM June 27, 2000
UC faculty are invited to apply for Study Center directorship positions in the University's Education Abroad Program. At each site, the Study Center Director is the administrator of the Center, promotes harmonious relations with UC's partner universities, facilitates academic exchanges, provides academic and general counseling for enrolled UC students, implements UC academic policy, and serves as Instructor of Record for all academic work undertaken by EAP students. In Meiji Gakuin, the visiting UC Professor is required to teach one course. Fluency in the language of the host country and a broad knowledge of the host country are major qualifications. Tenured faculty members of the Academic Senate, including Lecturers with security of employment and emeriti faculty, may apply. REGULAR TWO YEAR APPOINTMENTS

SEMESTER APPOINTMENTS Japan (Meiji-Gakuin) - a one-semester nomination will be made from April 1 - July 31, 2001 to Meiji Gakuin University for a visiting UC Professor who will also oversee students in the Spring Semester Global Security and Development Program. Korea - a one-semester nomination will be made from September 1, 2001 - December 31, 2001.
