SUBJECT:  Next Generation Network - Information Forums

Construction of the UCSD Next Generation Network, announced to the campus in March, has already begun and includes such important campus services as the new wireless data network unveiled last week. The change in funding structure that accompanies this new network will be put into place on July 1, 2001 and should ensure sufficient funding, consistent and fair assessment, and a stable, simple and predictable charging mechanism for the campus.

Wondering just how these new charges will appear on your monthly ledgers? Trying to compute how or if they will affect your budget? Looking for answers to your questions about communication users, combined voice and data charges, charges to grants and contracts and more?

Two NGN information forums will be held on the following dates:

* Friday, April 6, 1:30 - 3:30 PM at the Price Center Theatre
* Monday, April 23, 8:30 - 10:30 AM at 4500 Hubbs Hall (in SIO)

No reservations are necessary for these sessions. There should be plenty of room for all who are interested.
