"September 11: Aftermath and Implications"
3:00pm - 4:30 pm

The Graduate School of International Relations & Pacific Studies will host a town meeting on the aftermath and implications of the September 11 attacks. The meeting is open to all members of the university and IR/PS communities. A panel of IR/PS specialists in international affairs will evaluate the domestic and international consequences of the attacks and the challenges of rebuilding security and peace.

The meeting will begin at 3:00 pm in the Robinson Auditorium in the IR/PS complex.

Panelists will include:

Peter Cowhey, Director of the Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation (IGCC), IR/PS Professor of International Telecommunications and Information Industry Markets and former Chief of the International Bureau of the Federal Communication Commission

Dipak Gupta, SDSU Professor of Peace Studies and widely respected expert on terrorism

Miles Kahler, IR/PS Rohr Professor of Pacific International Relations

Lawrence Krause, IR/PS Professor Emeritus, renowned expert on the international financial system

Sam Popkin, UCSD Professor of Political Science and Presidential Elections Analyst

Susan Shirk, IR/PS Professor of Chinese Relations and former Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs

Moderator will be IR/PS Interim Dean Andrew MacIntyre.
