SUBJECT:  Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action and
                     Diversity Award Nominations

The purpose of this Notice is to announce the 2000-2001 Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action and Diversity Award Program. This Program has been designed to recognize employees, departments or organizational units who have made an outstanding contribution in any or all of these areas at UCSD during the past year (November 2000 through October 2001). Therefore, all members of the campus community are invited and encouraged to nominate staff colleagues who are deserving and meet a certain criteria.

A Review Panel of representatives chosen by the Chancellor and Vice Chancellors will evaluate all eligible nominations and recommend recipients to Chancellor Robert C. Dynes. Accordingly, the employees will be recognized and awards will be presented by the Chancellor to each recipient during the annual ceremony to be held on Thursday, November 29, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. in the Price Center Ballroom B.
