SUBJECT: Appointment of Elizabeth Urtecho as Director for Student Please welcome Elizabeth Urtecho who joins the Student Policies and Judicial Affairs Cluster for the Student Affairs Division as the Program Director of Student Office for Human Relations (SOHR). For the past nine years Elizabeth served as the Affirmative Action Officer and site compliance for all Continuing Education Centers and all three San Diego Community Colleges (Miramar, Mesa and City College). Elizabeth was an instructor at Southwestern College in south San Diego County, and was also nominated Woman of the Year 1997 for her community involvement, which includes serving as a member of the San Diego Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Port Authority, Sister Cities Society and Sharp Hospital. Elizabeth served as the advisor for the Mexican Consulate and was a member of the Latino Arts Committee in San Diego. Elizabeth has been a leader in the effort to promote civil rights for the under-represented students through education. Elizabeth earned her BA in Liberal Arts and her Master's degree in Counseling Science at San Diego State University. Elizabeth accreditations include Lifetime California Community College Instructor's Credential - Psychology, Child Development, and ESL.
