Open House 2001 is THIS Saturday, October 20 from 9am to 4pm at the main campus and 11am to 4pm at Scripps Institution of Oceanography! Discover areas you never realized existed. Tour facilities that are not ordinarily open to the public: Scripps Pier, San Diego Supercomputer Center, and more. Enjoy a day of fun, entertainment and education. Bring your family and friends. Learn to surf at Scripps Institution of Oceanography or engage in the art of glass blowing at the Craft Center. Be amazed at a magnetic magic show or show your Triton spirit at an afternoon soccer game. Meet some of the minds of UCSD at a variety of seminars with topics ranging from "Patriotism and Professionalism" and "U.S. Energy Follies and Opportunities" to clinical trials and enlightening historical perspectives. Indulge your taste buds with a fanfare of food: authentic Oktoberfest to Korean BBQ to Vietamese Shishkabob to deli sandwiches and gourmet pastry. Kick up your dancing shoes with performances by The Mar Dels, Hot Rod Lincoln, Agent 22 and more. For kids: pumpkin painting, a spooky haunted house, llama rides, and how-to projects.
