SUBJECT:  Thurgood Marshall College Provost

I am delighted to announce that Cecil Lytle, Provost of Thurgood Marshall College, has been appointed as Director of the University of California Study Center in the United Kingdom/Ireland, a part of the Education Abroad Program. His two-year term will begin on July 1, 2001. I hope that you will join me in congratulating Provost Lytle on this appointment.

I have asked Professor Michael Schudson, Department of Communication, to serve as Acting Provost of Thurgood Marshall College during Provost Lytle's absence. Please join me in thanking Professor Schudson for taking up this important position.
