AUXILIARY & PLANT SERVICES April 27, 2001
SUBJECT: Construction Alert - New Water Pumping System The contractor installing the new water pumping system on Muir campus will be shutting down our campus pumping station to change out the suction and discharge valves on pumps 3 and 4 in order to replace the existing inoperable valves. During the time this system is shut down the campus will be placed on a bypass system that is fed by the city's water supply. This means that the campus will only have between 50 to 70 psi coming into campus instead of the usual 100 psi from our pumping station. The impact of this decrease in water pressure will be minimal for most of the campus but noticeable in our hi-rise buildings. This installation will be completed during the hours from 10:00 pm on Tuesday, May 1, 2001 through 4:00 am on Wednesday, May 2, 2001. Any questions can be directed to Santiago Benavides, Assistant Director Zone Maintenance, Physical Plant Services @ (858) 822-2807
