SUBJECT:  2000-2001 Annual Service Awards Ceremony

It is my pleasure to announce that the 34th Annual Service Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 in the Price Center Ballroom. The Ceremony provides an opportunity for the campus community to acknowledge and recognize those UCSD staff employees who have achieved 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of service during the period of May 1, 2001 through April 30, 2001. This year we will recognize and celebrate five hundred and forty-eight (548) staff members of the UCSD community.

The Ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. and will include presentation of Awards and Certificates of Appreciation to eighty-three individuals who have completed 25, 30, and 35 years of service. The celebration will also include refreshments and music.

Vice Chancellors, Department Heads and Supervisors have been provided listings of the honorees in their respective areas who will be recognized at the May 22nd event. All supervisors should encourage those who are to be recognized to attend the Ceremony.

UCSD's continuing excellence is, in many respects, a reflection of the commitment and contributions of the valued members of the campus community who will be acknowledged at the Service Awards Ceremony.
