SUBJECT:  Search for Founding Dean of the Management School

Applications and nominations are invited for the position of Founding Dean of the newly established UCSD Management School, scheduled to open its doors in Fall 2003.

The Search Committee (membership listed below) has initiated a national search and is seeking an individual with a record of distinction in academia, business or government, and a commitment to intellectual and professional excellence. The Dean will provide academic, intellectual, and administrative leadership in building UCSD's newest professional school and will promote excellence in all aspects of the School's research, teaching, and service missions. Candidates must possess the academic qualifications sufficient to merit a tenured senior-level academic appointment in the new School. The Dean will be appointed to serve at 100% time for a five-year term, renewable following appropriate review.

The Search Committee will begin reviewing nominations and applications in mid-February, 2002, and continue until the position is filled. Applications (resume and names of references) and nominations should be submitted to:
