SUBJECT: PPM 380-6, Budget Administration of State Employee Benefits
                     Program

Effective July 1, 2001, the University of California, San Diego revised its policy for administering the State funded employee benefits program.

PPM 380-6, Budget Administration of State Employee Benefits Program, sets policy and procedure for the establishment and administration of the State funded employee benefits program budget. The purpose of the State funded employee benefits program is to ensure that sufficient campus funds are budgeted to cover the employee benefits costs associated with State funded eligible salary that is budgeted on State General Funds.

The primary change to the policy is that effective July 1, 2001 departments are required to fund employee benefits paid by the campus related to incremental salary adjustments. Previously, departments were required to fund benefits only on new FTE's. You may access the detailed PPM electronically at the following address:
