KEY ADMINISTRATORS/KEY SUPPORT STAFF (Excluding UCSD Healthcare)

SUBJECT:  Rewarding Youth Achievement Summer Program, 2002

The Rewarding Youth Achievement (RYA) Summer Program, formerly called The Summer Youth Employment Program, seeks UCSD departments to provide work-training positions for youth ages 14 to 17. The RYA Summer Program is a part of the San Diego Youth @ Work Initiative that provides personal development, education, job training, and stable employment to neighborhood youth. This is a win-win program which allows UCSD to acquire qualified assistance and the youth to gain career-building experience.

UCSD departments will assume responsibility for providing enriched learning, growth, training, and supervision for each youth. The youth will begin work in late June and terminate in late August. The youth will work 30 hours per week for four weeks for a total of 120 hours. The youth are paid minimum wage at no direct cost to the University.

If you are interested in making a positive impact on the community by helping a youth successfully enter the world of work, please contact Linda Olvera at (858) 534-3694 or lolvera@ucsd.edu for a job order form. Submit your application to the Equal Opportunity/Staff Affirmative Action Division of the Human Resources Department at 10280 North Torrey Pines Road, Suite 370 or to Mail Code 0923. The deadline for applications is Friday, May 24, 2002. To download the Internship Opportunity form, click below.
