OFFICE OF FACILITIES DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION

July 24, 2002

ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UCSD

SUBJECT: Construction Alert - Temporary Closure of York Lane and
                     Parking Lot P108

Beginning on July 25, 2002 through August 23, 2002, York Lane and Parking Lot P108 will be closed to all vehicular traffic with the exception of service yard vehicles. This closure is necessary for the installation of a large chilled water and high temperature vault as part of the expansion of the Central Utility Plant. Refer to the campus map website http://www.ucsd.edu/map/ucsdmap.pdf, section D-11 - Parking Lot 108 is the northern most section of York Lane.

Because Parking Lot P-108 does not contain any staff or faculty parking, occupants of both York Hall and the Central Utilities Plant should not be affected.

In addition, beginning on August 7, 2002 through August 21, 2002, York Lane will be completely closed to all vehicular traffic from 7:00 a.m to 3:30 p.m. while the chilled water/high temperature vault is actually being installed. During this time, service yard vehicles will be provided access from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. each day.

Please call Facilities Design and Construction, Gerry White, Project Manager, at (858) 534-2987 with any questions.

Thank you for your patience during this time.
