SUBJECT:  Elimination of Student Registration Validation Sticker

The Student Business Services Office, in coordination with ACT, has been working toward the development of an alternative to the current sticker used for validating student registration status. Currently, a sticker is affixed to the back of the student ID Card each quarter.

In April of this year, a campus notice was issued, notifying departments of the initiative to eliminate the sticker, and a survey link was provided for departments to access. The survey was conducted to identify whether or not departments had a dependency on the sticker for validating student registration status. Of the 68 departments that responded, 13 of those indicated that they relied on the sticker. Each of those departments was contacted, and their business needs were incorporated into design.

Utilizing the results from the survey and information gathered through discussions with various campus departments, an on-line registration validation tool has been developed. This tool is now available for the Fall 2002 Quarter.

To learn more about on-line registration and to use the tool, go to:

This on-line validation is for student registration validation only. Staff will still require an annual validation sticker that will be issued annually through department offices.

We are confident that the on-line tool will enhance our ability to more accurately determine a student's registration status, and will be a tremendous benefit to the students who will no longer be required to stand in long lines each quarter to receive their sticker. Thanks to all who helped in the completion of this initiative. Please contact Mark Cooper at extension 2-2338 if you have any questions or concerns.
