SUBJECT:  Campus Community Centers

To help ensure that the UCSD campus community grows in strength as it grows in size, I am pleased to announce that the Cross Cultural Center, the Women's Center, and the Lesbian Gay Bi-Sexual Transgender Resource Office will begin reporting to the Chancellor's Office and directly to Assistant Chancellor Linda Williams effective February 1, 2002.

Each of these centers is an extraordinary institutional asset; each has enhanced our campus by building its diversity and sustaining its excellence. In repositioning these centers, I intend to raise their visibility and emphasize the value of the services they provide.

Please join me in thanking Provost Ann Craig, Provost Pat Ledden, and Director Paula Doss for their landmark contributions to the growth and success of these organizations.
