SUBJECT:  Academic Salary Scales
                     PPM 230-40

The academic salary scales for 2002-03, with pay rates effective October 1, 2002, are available online at http://adminrecords.ucsd.edu/PPM/docs/230-40.HTML . The University did not receive range adjustment funds as a result of the California state budget for fiscal year 2002-03, so the academic salary scales will remain unchanged from fiscal year 2001-02.

The Lecturer and Senior Lecturer with Security of Employment scales have been expanded to include the new titles of Lecturer and Senior Lecturer with Potential Security of Employment.

Academic salary scales for Lecturers and Supervisors of Teacher Education who are exclusively represented are the subject of ongoing collective bargaining negotiations and will be published upon resolution of the negotiations. A new salary scale for the title Faculty Fellow Researcher will also be published upon resolution of the negotiations.

Manual holders are requested to route a copy of this issuance to the department chair and any other staff within the department needing information on academic salaries.
