SUBJECT:  Total Compensation Website

This notice is to announce the creation of a new website that allows for the calculation of an employee's Total Compensation. As you are aware, UCSD employees are provided an exceptional array of benefits and employee services. Therefore, this website is provided to enable each of you to be fully aware of employer paid benefits and contributions in addition to your base pay.

The deployment of the web-based calculator provides the opportunity for you to calculate your Total Compensation by using the calculator found at http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/totalcomp. You may use this interactive "Total Compensation Calculator" to enter your health plan choices, coverage type, and annual salary; the calculator will then calculate the value of your Total Compensation package based on the values for calendar year 2003. Many employees may not be aware of the amount the University is contributing toward the cost of benefits, and the value of the various components of their compensation package beyond the base salary.

In addition to the calculator, this new site contains numerous links to detailed information regarding paid leave, health and welfare benefits, retirement and savings programs, worklife balance programs, career development opportunities and employee services.
