SUBJECT:  UCSD Diversity Council Focus Group Sessions

I am pleased to announce the next series of Diversity Council Focus Group sessions. These sessions are being held to provide members of the campus community with an opportunity to hear about and comment on critical issues impacting diversity at UCSD. The two sessions listed below will conclude this series of meetings related to campus diversity. The topic of the sessions will be "Reducing Hate Crimes and Bias Motivated Incidents".

Session 1

Date: Wednesday, April 10, 2002
Time: 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Location: Davis/Riverside, Price Center

Session 2

Date: Thursday, April 11, 2002
Time: 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Location: Gallery A, Price Center

I am approving a one-hour administrative leave with pay that can be used either on April 10th or April 11th so employees may attend a focus group session of their choice. Supervisors may grant employees one hour of administrative leave combined with an employee lunch break to attend an event when the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties.
