SUBJECT:  Friedkin Memorial

A memorial honoring our late colleague, Morris Enton Friedkin, will be held at the UCSD Faculty Club on Monday, January 27, at 4:00 PM.

Morris Friedkin came to UCSD in 1969 as a Professor in our Department of Biology. He exerted a broad and lasting influence on the University through his teaching of biochemistry to medical students and undergraduates, his service as Provost of Revelle College (1974-1976), his contribution to establishment of the first chair of Judaic Studies at UCSD, his wise counsel to students and colleagues, and the example of his generous spirit and remarkable courage.
