SUBJECT:  CONSTRUCTION ALERT - Closure of Intersection of Voigt Drive
                       and Engineering Lane

Project Description/Location

The Cal(IT)2 project has been in construction for several months now in the UCSD School of Engineering neighborhood. A large construction crane has been in use to erect the steel framing of the building. This phase of construction is now complete and the crane will need to be demobilized and removed.

Immediate Street Impacts

On Saturday, November 8, 2003, beginning at approximately 8:00 a.m. and ending around 6:00 p.m., the intersection of Voigt Drive and Engineering Lane will be closed to all through traffic in order for the crane to be disassembled and removed. This one-day closure will eliminate access to Parking Lot 503 and to eht loading docks at Engineering Building Unit 1 and the Bioengineering Building (Engineering Building Unit 3B). Individuals wishing to enter/exit Warren College housing should travel via Voigt Drive during this day.

If you have any questions, please contact the Project Manager, John Sturla, at 858-534-3977, or Project Specialist, Gretchen Nell at 858-534-0624. We greatly appreciate your patience during this time. Please view the area map at
