April 24, 2003

MEMBERS OF THE ACADEMIC SENATE

SUBJECT:  Representative Assembly Meeting--April 29, 2003

Dear Colleagues:

I write to encourage you to attend Tuesday's meeting of the Representative Assembly, which will be held in Garren Auditorium (1105 Basic Science Building) beginning at 3:30 p.m. The Assembly will conclude its nominations for vacancies on the Committee on Committees, act on the 2002-03 Distinguished Teaching nominations, consider enactment of the bylaws and regulations of Sixth College, and consider modifications to Thurgood Marshall College academic requirements.

I will also be asking you for your impressions about an important matter that has been under review both locally and systemwide. It is being proposed that Part II of the Faculty Code of Conduct (Professional Responsibilities, Ethical Principles, and Unacceptable Faculty Conduct) be amended to specifically include examples of unacceptable conduct involving romantic or sexual relationships between faculty and students.

The meeting agenda and enclosures may be located at:
