GRADUATE STUDIES AND RESEARCH

KEY ADMINISTRATORS/KEY SUPPORT STAFF

SUBJECT:  Appointment of Director for Graduate Student Financial Support

The Office of Graduate Studies and Research is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathryn Nagy as Director of Graduate Student Financial Support, effective July 7, 2003. Kathryn fills the position previously held by Angie Giunta and Morgan Hunter.

Kathryn previously served as a financial analyst in the Division of Biological Sciences at UCSD where she was responsible for projecting, managing, and coordinating graduate student financial support. In that capacity, she developed a reputation as the Division's expert on graduate financial matters, and served as liaison to the National Institutes of Health, the Salk Institute, and several campus units.

In OGSR, Kathryn's responsibilities include the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the smooth and efficient delivery of student financial support services. This involves the planning, managing, and directing of merit-based graduate student financial support administration, including the oversight of tuition-and-fee payments. Consulting with academic departments, faculty, students, and campus administrators, she will work to address complex graduate student financial support issues. With the OGSR management team, she will collaborate on broader graduate education matters to achieve campus graduate education goals.

Effective July 7, 2003, Kathryn may be reached at 534-3724, knagy@ucsd.edu, mailcode 0003. Please join me in welcoming her to the Office of Graduate Studies and Research.
