SUBJECT: Name Change for Assistant Vice Chancellor-Student Development Effective immediately, the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Development in Student Affairs will be known as the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Health and Wellness. The name more clearly reflects the role of the Assistant Vice Chancellor who serves as the Director of Student Health Services and oversees Psychological and Counseling Services, the Office of Students with Disabilities and the Student Safety Awareness Program. Brian J. Murray, M.D. Effective immediately, the Student Safety Awareness Program will be known as the Student Safety Awareness and Sexual Assault Resource Center. This name more clearly reflects the role of the Student Safety Awareness and Sexual Assault Resource Center to students. Within Student Affairs, the department reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Health and Wellness. Established in 1988, the Student Safety Awareness and Sexual Assault Resource Center is the primary resource for educational programs on general personal safety and rape prevention for students. The staff offer a variety of outreach programs, including co-sponsoring the Rape Aggression Defense self-defense class and coordinating the annual Lighting Survey Walks. The Student Safety Awareness and Sexual Assault Resource Center provides information and follow-up support regarding rape, sexual assault and dating violence on campus. Individuals who have been victims of sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking can seek confidential assistance to identify available options, receive referrals to appropriate support services, and receive confidential counseling. Staff also accompany victims of violent crimes through the police, hospital, and judicial process. Directory information for the office is:
