SUBJECT:  Appointment - Director of the UCSD Women's Center

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Emelyn dela Pena as Director of the UCSD Women's Center effective July 28, 2003.

Emelyn joined the staff of the Women's Center in March 2000 and has served as Interim Director for the past seven months. In her roll as Director, she will continue to provide leadership for the Women's Center in the delivery of educational and support services to all members of the University Community regarding gender issues with the goal of promoting an inclusive and equitable campus community.

Emelyn earned her undergraduate degree from UCSD in Ethnic Studies and received her Masters of Art in Postsecondary Educational Leadership & Instruction from San Diego State University.
