SUBJECT:  Appointment - UC Associate President

I am delighted to announce that Linda Morris Williams has agreed to serve as my Associate President when my administration begins on October 2. In her new position in the Office of the President, Linda will carry on the dynamic leadership that has been a hallmark of her tenure as my Associate Chancellor at UCSD. Her extraordinary skills as a university administrator, her visionary work as a champion of diversity in higher education, and her strong ties to key constituent groups will be invaluable to me as I launch my presidency. On behalf of the UCSD campus community, I would like to express my profound gratitude to Linda for her outstanding service over the past 15 years, and I want to extend my personal thanks and congratulations to her for assuming this important new post.
