SUBJECT:  UCSD Marketplace Now Offering Dell Computers
                     and Laptops via UCSD Storehouse

UCSD's procurement team has launched the first offering of a new and easy buying site that ensures the best value to the campus community on frequently purchased goods and services.

This new site, called "UCSD Marketplace" is powered by an enhanced version of the successful UCSD Storehouse buying site.

In addition to the current Storehouse offering of office, technology, ergonomics, laboratory, gas and custodial products, the Marketplace now presents select Dell desktop computers and notebooks. UCSD Marketplace also presents the following.

Enhanced features:
-- Spend Alerts and notification services, an automatic way to stay updated on purchases made
-- Easy and intuitive user profile, favorites and shopping cart services
-- Separate accounting detail for Dell purchases

Compliance with UCSD policies:
-- Leverages UC collective buying power
-- Satisfies purchasing, equipment, and payment requirements

Coming October 1, 2003:
-- New Single Sign-On integration
-- Breakdown of all Marketplace purchases to detail expenditure accounts for easy reconciliation
