SUBJECT:  Appointment - Interim UCSD Associate Chancellor

I am delighted to announce that Ann Briggs Addo has agreed to serve as my Associate Chancellor on an interim basis beginning October 2. Ann's distinguished service as Chief of Staff to the Vice Chancellor - Resource Management and Planning has given her an in-depth knowledge of a number of critical campuswide issues, and her contributions to improving workplace effectiveness has made her one of UCSD's most respected leaders. Before joining UCSD in 1992 as the Capital Planning Business Office Manager, Ann served key roles in the Office of Telecommunications at Indiana University, Bloomington and at the United Nations Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean. She holds a B.S. in Management and Organizations from Indiana University and an M.B.A. from San Diego State University. Ann's service to the campus is reflected in various honors that include the UCSD Community Champion of Diversity and the Spirit of Preuss Community Awards. Please join me in extending congratulations and best wishes to Ann in this pivotal campus leadership position.
