ALL STUDENTS AT UCSD
Effective January 1, 2004, the University of California's nondiscrimination policies have been revised to indicate that the University prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender identity and pregnancy. This revision is in accordance with a new state law (Assembly Bill 196), which clarifies for the purposes of California's Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) that discrimination based on "sex" includes discrimination based on gender, or a person's "identity, appearance, or behavior, whether or not that identity, appearance, or behavior is different from that traditionally associated with the person's sex at birth." For more information on the revision, please see http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/gender Any questions or comments regarding the University's nondiscrimination policies may be directed to Paula Doss, Director, Equal Opportunity/Staff Affirmative Action, (858) 534-3694 or pdoss@ucsd.edu or Jonathan Welch, Director, Office of Academic Affirmative Action, (858)534-3623 or welchj@ucsd.edu.
