SUBJECT:    Senate-Administration Task Force on Underrepresented Faculty is Named

Last month, I advised you about the creation of a joint Academic Senate-Administration Task Force on Underrepresented Faculty that will conduct a thorough and thoughtful review of the campus' activities related to the recruitment and retention of underrepresented faculty.

I am pleased to share with you now the composition of the group. They are:

We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to these colleagues who have agreed to invest their time in this very important work and I look forward to receiving their report.

Since the announcement of this Task Force SVC Miller and I have heard from a number of you expressing support for and interest in assisting in this work. We welcome campus input and over the next several months you will hear directly the Task Force about how you might become involved.
