Registration Extended For China Trip, Summer 2004

SEATS ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR THIS SUMMER'S TRIP TO CHINA!
As an AMBASSADOR OF PEACE with other UCSD and UC faculty, staff, students and alumni, visit Beijing, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and
Tiananmen Square. Climb the GREAT WALL OF CHINA. You will also attend
a magnificent ceremony to celebrate good will between our two countries
in a gesture of international educational communication.
During the summers of 2001 and 2002, some 240 students, staff, and
faculty from UCSD participated in this event and experienced one of
the most exciting and wonderful times of their lives. UC staff and students from Irvine, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Davis, Los Angeles, Berkeley and the Office of the President also attended. UCSD staff/faculty and students have again been invited to participate in the "Silk Road to the Future" special event sponsored by The Legends of China Foundation, which is underwriting a significant part of each participant's expenses.
This year, the offer has been extended to the immediate family of students,
faculty, staff, and to alumni. There are FOUR trip options:
TRIP A: Beijing + Chengde (July 21-27) at a cost of $1,248;
TRIP B: Beijing, Chengde plus an additional South China "Side Trip" to
Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Zhouzhuang (July 20-30) at a cost of $1,746;
TRIP C: all Trip B cities plus an additional 3-day tour of Seoul, South Korea (July 24-August 5) at a cost of $2,141; or,
TRIP D: Beijing, Xi'an (Terra Cotta soldiers & imperial tomb excavation site), Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Zhouzhuang (July 24-August 4), at a cost
of $2,196.
